Free Color Picker

Pick any colour with the spectrum, or eyedrop straight from an image or anywhere on screen. Get every format — HEX, RGB, HSL, HSV, CMYK — check WCAG contrast, generate harmonies and export a palette. All in your browser.

100% in your browser — images you pick from are never uploaded.
Why use it

Every colour, every format.

Eyedrop anything

Sample a colour from an uploaded image — it even auto-extracts a palette — or pick from anywhere on your screen with the native eyedropper.

Every format

HEX, RGB, HSL, HSV and CMYK, each with one-click copy. Paste any value into a field and it converts to all the others instantly.

WCAG contrast

Check any colour against a background — AA/AAA pass or fail for normal and large text, so your ad and email copy stays legible.

Palettes & export

Build a palette, generate harmonies and shades, then copy CSS variables or JSON, or download a swatch PNG or Adobe .ase file.

How it works

Three steps, all in your browser.

1

Pick a colour

Use the spectrum picker, eyedrop from an uploaded image (and grab the auto-extracted palette), or pick from anywhere on your screen.

2

Convert & check

Read or copy it in HEX, RGB, HSL, HSV or CMYK, check WCAG contrast against a background, and explore harmonies, tints and shades.

3

Build & export

Collect colours into a palette, then copy them as CSS variables or JSON, or download a swatch PNG or an Adobe .ase swatch file.

Why ours

Made for ad & email work.

Pull brand colours from a logo

Drop in a client's logo or a reference shot and eyedrop the exact colours — or let it auto-extract the whole palette for you.

Keep copy legible

The WCAG contrast checker tells you instantly whether text passes AA or AAA on your chosen background — before it ships in a banner or EDM.

Private by design

Everything runs locally — images you eyedrop from are never uploaded. Picking, converting, contrast and copying are free and unlimited.

FAQ

Quick answers.

Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The Color Picker runs 100% in your browser — when you eyedrop colours out of an image, that image never leaves your device. It's safe for unreleased logos, mockups and confidential brand work.
What can I pick a colour from?
Three ways. Use the spectrum picker (a saturation/value square with hue and alpha sliders), eyedrop straight from an uploaded image (hover to sample, click to pick — and it auto-extracts a palette from the image), or pick from anywhere on your screen with the native eyedropper. Screen-picking needs a Chromium browser like Chrome or Edge; the button hides itself where it isn't supported.
Which colour formats does it give me?
HEX, RGB(A), HSL(A), HSV and CMYK — each with a one-click copy. Every field also accepts typed input, so you can paste a HEX, rgb() or hsl() value and it converts to all the others instantly.
Can it check colour contrast for accessibility?
Yes. The built-in WCAG contrast checker compares your colour against a background and shows the contrast ratio with AA/AAA pass or fail for both normal and large text — handy for making sure ad and email copy stays legible.
Can I save and export a palette?
Yes. Collect colours into a palette, then copy them as CSS variables or JSON for free, or download a swatch-sheet PNG or an Adobe .ase swatch file. You also get colour harmonies (complementary, analogous, triadic and more) and tints & shades for any colour.
Is it free?
Yes — free to use with no signup. Picking, converting, contrast-checking and copying values are always free and unlimited. Only the packaged file downloads (swatch PNG / .ase) use a free daily limit of 5; a Premium account makes those unlimited. Need a different edit? Try Remove Background or Convert Image.

Pick, convert and check — free.

Free to use with no signup, and nothing is ever uploaded. Eyedrop a colour, get every format, check contrast and export a palette — picking, converting and copying are unlimited, and Premium unlocks unlimited file downloads.
