Q: How does it know which image is the before and which is the after?

Three ways, and you can mix them. Files with the same name in two drops pair up (first drop = before, second = after). Names ending in _before / _after pair by themselves in one drop. Anything else you pair by hand in the tool, and you can rename a pair before it goes out. Drop a whole folder and the tool pairs what it can and shows you the rest.

One page, on your link, with the whole set: a slider that wipes between before and after, side by side , or after only for a clean look at the result. Light theme by default with a dark toggle. They can leave a comment on the set or pin a comment to a spot on an image — no account needed on their side.

Q: Does it work with Photo Studio?

That is the intended pair. In Photo Studio , Send to Before/After hands every edited frame over as an original + retouched pair, already named to pair themselves; one click here mints the approval link.

Drop the originals and the retouched files, let them pair by name, and send the client one link: a slider, side by side, or after only — with comments pinned to the exact spot on the image. Overwrite the link when the set changes, or publish a new version.

Are my images uploaded?

Not while you pair and compare them — that all happens in your browser. Images are uploaded only when you create a share link, because the client has to be able to open it. Links need a free account; the images are stored in your own space and you can overwrite or version a link later.
